Sensuous Fruit

Sometimes the scent of foods
Our senses do beseech
In the summer time, I like
A juicy, luscious peach

The strawberry my eye delights
Its vivid color red
Of the vibrant hue of it
It’s lovely, can be said

The feeling of the kiwi fruit
So fuzzy and so fun
It seems just after starting one
I realize that it’s done

The tingle of a pineapple
Excites my tip of tongue
I’m sure for generations
Islanders have sung

It’s hard to think a fruit can make
Any kind of sound
Except when those ripe apples are
Dropping on the ground
